Blood Mansion and Stasis Removal Soup

Blood Mansions and Blood Stasis Soup is a representative formula for treating blood stasis in the chest, which has the effect of draining the liver and relieving depression, regulating qi and activating blood circulation.

In his book, Wang Qingren listed several main symptoms that can be applied to Blood Mansions and Blood Stasis, including headache, chest pain and tightness, heart panic, unexplained anger, and feeling hot but cold.

All of the above main symptoms are caused by Blood stasis, and to determine whether there is Blood stasis, we can analyze the color of the patient's lips and face, the type of pain, and the manifestation of the tongue and pulse.

In patients with blood stasis in the body, the face, especially the lips, is prone to cyanosis, or even purplish or dark; if there is pain, it is mostly manifested as a stabbing pain, like a pinprick, and the pain is fixed.

Tongue or skin surface may have purple-black petechiae appear, when the tongue is cocked, the two veins under the tongue will also be purple and dilated performance; some patients have dry flaky skin, serious people similar to fish scales; female patients will also appear in the menstrual clots.

Therefore, some patients with constipation can also use this formula on the basis of accurate identification of evidence. It is important to note that the bupleurum here should mostly be Chuan Niubizi and not Huai Niubizi.

Chuan Niu Knee is good at invigorating blood stasis, while Huai Niu Knee is good at nourishing the liver and kidneys, and should be chosen according to the actual situation. Radix et Rhizoma oryzaeum and Radix Bupleurum play the same important role as "traffic agents".

Relationship between Blood Stasis and Mental Disorders

Blood stasis is closely related to mental disorders. In the classic "Treatise on Typhoid", there are records of the use of blood stasis remedies, such as "Waidian Tang" and "Peach Kernel Cheng Qi Tang", to treat mental abnormalities such as "madness", "frenzy" and "forgetfulness".

All organs and organs of the body are connected through meridians, and meridians such as the Directing Vessel and the Foot and Solar Bladder Meridian directly enter the brain, and the body's yang energy and other nutrients are transported to the brain through the meridians.

However, if blood stasis blocks the meridians, on the one hand, the brain will not be nourished, on the other hand, it is easy to depress the yang energy and cause agitation.

For example, if the outside temperature is the same, the temperature in a closed environment will be significantly higher than in an open environment.

When Yang Qi is stagnant for a long time, it also tends to generate fire and heat, which affects the mind and makes people easily agitated. The clinical treatment of depression, anxiety, mania and other mental abnormalities can be applied by activating blood circulation and resolving blood stasis.

In terms of the choice of prescriptions, Warding Off Tang and Peach Kernel Cheng Qi Tang favor the treatment of blood stasis in the middle and lower jiao.

If the patient is distended below the navel, hard and uncomfortable when pressed by hand, and accompanied by dry and obstructed stools or dark stools, dry mouth and bitterness, and petechiae on the tongue, Resistance Tang or Peach Kernel Cheng Qi Tang can be used to treat the symptoms.

Chest paralysis refers to the chest pain, even chest pain through the back, gasping for sleep as the main manifestation of a disease, the light feel chest tightness, breathing is not smooth, the heavy then have chest pain, serious heart pain through the back, back pain through the heart.

In TCM theory, there are many causes of chest paralysis, which can be caused by Yang deficiency and cold condensation, or by phlegm and dampness paralyzing the heart veins. Blood Mansions and Blood Stasis Tang is mainly used to treat chest paralysis caused by blood stasis.

If the patient has symptoms such as chest pain like stabbing, sweating in the forehead especially at night, a purple tongue or a pale tongue with petechiae and teeth marks on the sides, a sunken and astringent pulse or a weak and feeble pulse, Blood Mansions and Eliminating Blood Stasis Tang can be used for treatment.

If the patient also has symptoms such as thick and greasy moss and sticky stool, add 24g of Guadua, 9g of Panax quinquefolium and 9g of Allium sativum; if the patient also has symptoms of Yang deficiency such as pale and fat tongue with tooth marks on the side and unheated limbs, add 12g of Gui Zhi, 3g of Hsiang Xin and 15g of Dang Shen.
